The Holy See’s 2024 declaration rejects gender theory and sex-change. Disorders of sex development (DSD) sit in a separate sentence.
Dignitas Infinita (2 April 2024; Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith; Press Office bulletin) §§55–59 reject gender theory, including attempts to dictate how children should be raised, and say biological sex and the socio-cultural role of sex can be distinguished but not separated. §60 says any sex-change intervention, as a rule, risks threatening the dignity the person received from conception. The same paragraph allows medical help for genital abnormalities already evident at birth or that develop later — that is disorders of sex development (DSD) correction, not a sex-change pathway.
