Malta’s public clinic prescribes hormones. That is Affirming.
The Department of Health’s Gender Wellbeing Clinic page records that Legal Notice 44 of 2018 added “gender identity and sex characteristics related conditions” to the NHS entitlement schedule. The clinic opened in November 2018. The published team includes paediatric experts for children and adolescents. Services on the National Health Service include initial assessment, psychosocial and family support, hormone prescription and follow-up by an endocrinologist, voice therapy, psychiatric care, gynaecology, orchiectomy, hysterectomy, and gamete preservation. The clinic says it follows WPATH (the World Professional Association for Transgender Health) standards adapted to Maltese law.
